The Caledonian Clock Tower, designed by James Bunstone Bunnings, was erected in 1855 as the centrepiece of the new Metropolitan Cattle Market, developed by the City of London Corporation to replace Smithfields as the livestock market for London. The tower is 46m high, and was deliberately built so tall to help animal drovers coming into London locate the market.
Caledonian Park is open every day from 08:00 until dusk. The nearest tube station is Caledonian Road (Piccadilly Line) which is a five minute walk away.
