Geocache Description:

This cache is placed  at the lower, Shore Road, end of Glas Na Braden glen. Glasnabraden links the Shore Road and nearby Gideon’ Green with Valley Park and the nearby Valley Leisure Centre. The glen is a pleasant walk especially when approached from the lower end.

The river mini gorge is attractive and there are several smaller paths leading off the main tarmac main path.

In early spring there are bluebells, daffodils and large spectacular expanses of ramsons, wild garlic, especially on the lower part of the glen. A little above the cache on the main path is a double redwood tree. Easy to spot on account of its reddish and rather spongy to touch bark.

Parking is available at Gideon’s Green; although rather limited. If you drive into Shore Road entrance to the Rathcoole estate there is a small road on the left leading to Newtownabbey NIHE offices. Next to an electricity transformer there is a small lay by for parking.

The cache is a small bison containing the log. BYOP.  Please replace as found.

This is a busy walking area and is seldom muggle free. Please exercise caution and guile when retrieving the cache and returning it to its home.
