...the Blue Light no longer flashes here.
In my youth, there was no Walmart, Meijer, or Target - there was only Kmart. We loved going to Kmart - the deals, people chasing the Blue Light, and if we were good, famous Kmart subs for lunch!
Then things changed. Kmart changed (not necessarily for the better, they even ended the Blue Light Special for a long time!) and more and more choices of where to shop became available. Many Kmarts, like the one that was here, couldn't survive the change. There are now no Kmarts left in Michigan
But the nostalgian in me feels that these places should be remembered - and the cacher in me knew that it must be with a cache!
A new business occupies this space now (thank goodness, so many of these old Kmarts sit empty). Please be respectful of them - I approached from Ballenger road and could drive right up to the location.
Bring the writing implement of your choice, as the cache does not contain one.
