Geocache Description:

Welcome to my first multicache! This cache takes you around Highlands park. You will explore the wetlands, the baseball fields, the pool (though not inside it, sadly) and much more. Make sure to have fun, and enjoy the park while you are searching! I hope you enjoy this cache, and feel free to message me with any questions!

In order to solve for the coordinates of the final cache, you have to go to 5 locations and get 5 numbers. You will then use these 5 numbers to figure out the missing digits in the final coordinates. You will need either an app to enter the coordinates or an actual GPS. (I personally use the Commander Compass Go) The whole cache should take you under an hour. Follow the instructions closely as you make your way around the park.

To begin, go to the posted coordinates, which also act as the perfect place to park ;) This is where you’ll begin your adventure!

  1. After you park, turn left onto the path next to the soccer fields, and head towards the shelter. Once you reach the crossroads at the shelter, turn left towards the baseball fields. As soon as you turn, look up at the baseball field closest to you. What number do you see? That number + 8 = A

  2. Continue straight on that path with the tennis courts on your left, and the baseball fields on your right. Once you reach the “end” of that stretch, turn right going around the field. Continue straight for a little bit, and then you’ll see a small tree on your right. This tree has a sign in front of it. This tree was in memory of Gary R. ________. How many letters are in Gary’s last name? The amount of letters + 2 = B

  3. As you continue on the path, you can find my other geocache at Highlands (Highlands Hideout) if you would like. After you continue and veer right, you’ll see more baseball fields on your right, and the playground of Cherrington Elementary on your left. How many benches are there in each dugout? The amount of benches + 3 = C

  4. Continue straight, past the path that leads back to the shelter *do not turn there* and past the doggie poop station. Turn right on the path towards the pool. Then turn left at the rounded corner of the black fence and continue down that path. You’ll pass a water fountain and bathrooms, then you’ll need to turn onto the deck that leads to the pool entrance. Head straight on that path to the pool entrance area. Above the words “Aquatic Center” there is an address. What is the second digit of this address? The second digit + 4 = D

  5. Continue straight off of the deck and cross the street. Turn right on the path towards the bridge. Keep walking and head onto the bridge. Enjoy the view of the wetlands, and if you are lucky you may meet some ducks! On the left side of the bridge there are wooden poles connected by wire. How many pieces of wire are in between each set of poles? The number of wires - 6 = E

The coordinates to the final cache are: N 040 06.ABC W 082 54.3DE

The final cache is in Highlands park and is a sealed plastic container, about the size of a book, so enough room for swag! I hope you enjoy searching for and (hopefully) finding my multicache!
