One especially lovely segment of the Pacific Crest Trail starts at the Meiss Lake Trailhead at Carson Pass, then heads north past Meiss Lake, Showers Lake, and eventually to Echo Summit, a distance of about 14 miles.
This particular geocache is near a pleasant stream (the Upper Truckee) and meadow, just before the trail starts its ascent to the Meiss trailhead summit (if one is hiking from the north). It is a fine place to take a break.
