A new series we are starting that will not only introduce you to some of the dog parks around the mornington peninsula but we will also be sharing some fun facts and information about a different breed of dog for every cache in the series! Although they are numbered they don't have to be done in order. We have also got our resident expert, Ebony (Gnome5580s geodog!) Who will be giving each dog park a score of 1 to 5 paws depending on how much she approves of this park! đ¶ we hope you enjoy this series as much as Ebony had testing each of these parks out đ and on that note here is her opinion of this park:
Tassells Cove dog beach
This is one of only a few beaches where dogs are welcome on or off leash at all times of the day and night. This is a great little spot to let your furry family member run, swim and play but there are a few downsides to using this area, there are no real fences so good recall is important. There are no seats on the beach and there is no fresh water available so it might be a good idea to bring some along with you and finally there's the dangerous, unstable cliffs here not too mention how quickly the tide can come in if you're not vigilant! Remember you should always supervise children and pets at the beach! So because of this Ebony gives this park a 4 out of 5 paws. The breed we have chosen this time is another favourite in Australia.
JACK RUSSELL TERRIER
The Jack Russell Terrier is a small terrier that has its origins in fox hunting in England. It is principally white-bodied and smooth, rough or broken-coated and can be any colour.
Life expectancy:Â 13 â 16 years
Mass:Â 6.4 â 8.2Â kg (Adult)
Height:Â 25 â 38Â cm (Adult, At the withers)
Origin: EnglandÂ
Temperament:Â Stubborn, Intelligent, Energetic, Fearless, Athletic, Vocal
Colors:Â White, Black & White, White & Tan
This active pooch is a perfect family dog, especially if you have kids over the age of three or four. They have an adventurous nature so itâs best if you have an adventurous side too. Jack Russells do tend to get bored, so itâs best if they have a family that can really give them the time of day. A solitary or sedate lifestyle isnât suited to the Jack Russell.
The cache: You are searching for a micro hidden a little bit away from the beach which should give you a bit of cover but stealth is definitely required because muggles can come from any direction without warning. There is absolutely no need to go past any fences to find the cache and please stay well away from the cliff edges as they can crumble without warning! Also please remember to cover up the cache after you've signed so it's hidden from view but most importantly have fun and happy hunting! đ€
