Lecompton Constitution Hall is a building of historical significance which is a State Historic Site, on the National Register of Historic Places, as well as a National Historic Landmark. It is most well-known for hosting the Lecompton Constitutional Convention for the purpose of drafting a constitution for Kansas gaining statehood. This convention was of national significance and attention due to the pro-slavery and anti-slavery conflict and suspicion that inability to reach compromise would lead to civil war.
There are informational signs about the history of the building located throughout the grounds as well as a veterans' memorial.
This cache should be available at all times with no need to go inside the museum. This cache should be wheelchair accessible via the ramp in front of Lecompton City Hall just to the south. Accessible parking is available via the parking lot to the west of Constitution Hall.
