Herzogenbuchsee, die Krone der Region, von den Einheimischen «Buchsi» genannt, ist eine politische Gemeinde im Verwaltungskreis Oberaargau des Kantons Bern. Buchsi zählt knapp 7’500 Einwohner (Stand 31.12.2019: 7’479) und umfasst ein Gebiet von 985 ha, davon 345 ha Wald. Seit 2008 gehört der Ortsteil Oberönz zur Gemeinde Herzogenbuchsee.
Drei einheimische Geocacher (anf01, Mäsi S. und werferin) haben Anfang 2020 den Startschuss für eine ausgedehnte Cacher-Runde in Buchsi gelegt. Mit mehreren Tradis und ein paar wenigen Mysteries wollen wir euer/unser Hobby bereichern. Die Runde kann zu Fuss, mit dem Fahrrad oder auch mit dem Auto gemacht werden, was allerdings umständlich ist, Parkplätze sind aber oft in der Nähe vorhanden. Wenn man nicht die ganze Runde machen möchte, kann man das Ortsbustaxi bestellen und z.B. zurück an den Bahnhof gelangen. Viel Spass beim Suchen und Finden!
Zum Cache:
Ganz in der Nähe des Nullpunkts befindet sich ein Alters- und Pflegeheim, im ehemaligen Spital Herzogenbuchsee. Das Areal befindet sich an idyllischer Lage auf einer leichten Anhöhe mit Blick auf die ganze Jurakette. Auch vom Nullpunkt aus hat man eine perfekte Sicht auf den Jura. Zwischen Nullpunkt und dem Heim findet ihr auch eine Brätlistelle zum Verweilen.

Herzogenbuchsee, the crown of the region, called «Buchsi» by the locals, is a municipality in the administrative district of Oberaargau, which is part of the canton of Bern. Buchsi has almost 7'500 inhabitants (Dec. 31, 2019: 7'479) and covers an area of 985 ha, of which 345 ha is forest. The district of Oberönz has been part of Herzogenbuchsee since 2008.
Three local geocachers (anf01, Mäsi S. and werferin) gave the go-ahead for a round of geocaches in Buchsi early 2020. With several traditional caches and a few mysteries we want to enrich your/our hobby. The round can be done on foot, by bike or by car, which is cumbersome, however there are often parking lots nearby. If you don't want to do the whole round, you can order the local bus taxi and get back to the train station. Have fun searching and finding.
Near the hiding place you'll find the retirement home, within the former hospital of Herzogenbuchsee. The home for the elderly is located at an idyllic location, where you have good views of the Jura. Not only the home for the elderly has good views, also the hiding place has a perfect location to look at the Jura. On top of the good views from the hiding place, you'll find also a great fireplace next nearby.
