Geocache Description:

Pine Lake Preserve (“PLP”) is a public access 174-acre preserve with a nice variety of sandy and grassy trails, lakes and wildlife. The Geocache Liaison and Land Steward have allowed the caches to be placed here on a trial basis and it is imperative that you PLEASE tread lightly and leave no trace behind. Some areas of the park may be periodically closed for restoration and the corresponding caches will be disabled while work is completed. This EASY series of 10 hides is numbered and, if followed in order, you will have completed just under 2.5 miles and finish close to the entrance (total time is 1.5-2 hours). There may be some opportunity to CITO while here, so please show your appreciation and remove trash when you can.

Due to the park system restrictions on allowable geocache containers, you will not find my usual clever SassyGingerNinja hide! All caches are placed on or just off the trail for easy access, but trails themselves may vary 1.5-3 in difficulty during different times of the year. If you don’t want to complete the entire series in one day, you could break it up into northern half and southern half. Due to the remoteness of the trails, I recommend caching with a partner.

It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you download and print the preserve map found here: https://www.leegov.com/parks/Documents/Conservation%202020/Trail%20Maps/PLP_trail_map.pdf

**YOU MUST SIGN THE LOG IN ORDER TO CLAIM IT AS A FIND**

  • Bring your own writing instrument to sign the log – must be signed to be counted as a find
  • Wear closed toe shoes or hiking boots
