ITA: Torre Minervino, così chiamata perché l'Universitas di Minervino partecipò alle spese per la sua realizzazione, è un'opera di fortificazione e di difesa dalla costa orientale salentina situata nel comune di Santa Cesarea Terme. Costruita nel XVI secolo, durante la dominazione spagnola, fu ordinata da Carlo V in seguito agli attacchi dei saraceni. Data per crollata nel 1587 e in buono stato nel 1825, la torre era in collegamento visivo con la Torre di Porto Badisco a nord e con la Torre Specchia di Guardia verso sud. La sua posizione è fondamentale perché permetteva di scrutare il mare fino a Punta Palascia, il punto più orientale d'Italia.
ENG: Torre Minervino, so called because the Universitas of Minervino participated in the costs for its construction, is a fortification and defense work from the east coast of Salento located in the municipality of Santa Cesarea Terme. Built in the 16th century, during the Spanish domination, it was ordered by Charles V following the attacks of the Saracens. Date for collapsed in 1587 and in good condition in 1825, the tower was in visual connection with the Torre di Porto Badisco to the north and with the Specchia di Guardia Tower to the south. Its position is fundamental because it allowed to scan the sea up to Punta Palascia, the most eastern point of Italy.
