A Rose amongst Political Thorns, The Old Parliament House Rose Gardens, bounded by King George and Queen Victoria Terraces in Parkes, Canberra were conceived deliberately, as an integral part of the Provisional Parliament House building. These 87 year old gardens, created from a sheep paddock, are amongst the most outstanding and historically interesting gardens in Australia today.
Reconstructed just over ten years ago by the National Capital Authority, The Old Parliament House Gardens are of great historical and landscape beauty. Full permission has been granted by the head curators and gardeners for the cache hide and you can ask them for a tip if you see them. EXTREME STEALTH IS REQUIRED ,ESPECIALLY ON WEEKENDS WHEN MORE PEOPLE STROLL THROUGH THE GARDENS AND PATHS. SOME TENNIS PLAYERS WILL BE NEARBY AT TIMES. THE GARDEN GATES ARE OPENED DAILY FROM 7 AM till 5 PM IN WINTER. ITS CLOSED AT NIGHT,SO DONT TRY TO ENTER AFTER OPENING HOURS.
