Torre del Marconi
Siamo a Santa Colomba, una piccola frazione del Comune di Bientina, nella provincia di Pisa.
In questo luogo in mezzo a un oliveto, sorge una misteriosa e singolare costruzione sconosciuta a molti: La Torre del Marconi, risalente al 1700, venne poi ristrutturata intorno al 1800 per esclusiva funzione di caccia. Infatti la Torre del Marconi fu eretta in un punto di passo per i volatili ed era corredata di un impianto di richiamo ubicato sull'attigua collina. Faceva parte dell'omonima fattoria, successivamente divenuta proprietà del barone tedesco Schmidt.
Questo gioiello si caratterizza proprio per il suo stile falso-medievale con la sua torre merlata, le particolari aperture delle finestre, dell'ingresso e il suo interno decorato.
Come arrivare alla Torre
Personalmente ho lasciato la macchina sulla strada principale e ho percorso la rimanente a piedi. Seguendo però le indicazioni, possiamo arrivare nella strada sterrata che termina davanti ad una casa disabitata. Qui c'è un piccolo spazio dove si può parcheggiare, dato che non c'è nessun cartello che indica " strada privata". A quel punto, basta proseguire sul piccolo viottolo che conduce all' oliveto, compreso tra due proprietà private.
Quest'area sembra lasciata un po' all'abbandono: erba alta e qualche rovo, almeno per il primo tratto. Invece nei pressi della Torre la condizione è migliore.
Consiglio un abbigliamento adeguato per attraversare la zona incolta!

Per chi ha avuto a che fare con le mie cache, avrà notato che cerco sempre di inserirle nel luogo senza mai deturpare il suo contesto. Si tratta di un contenitore autoprodotto e mimetico! Non c'è bisogno di entrare nella torre, tanto meno di arrampicarsi.
Contiene solo logbook, quindi siete pregati di portarvi qualcosa per scrivere!

Torre del Marconi
We are in Santa Colomba, a small hamlet of the Municipality of Bientina, in the province of Pisa.
In this place in the middle of an olive grove, there is a mysterious and unique building unknown to many: The Marconi Tower, dating back to 1700, was then renovated around 1800 for exclusive hunting. In fact, the Torre del Marconi was erected in a point of passage for the birds and was equipped with a recall plant located on the adjacent hill. It was part of the farm of the same name, which later became the property of the German Baron Schmidt.
This jewel is characterized by its false-medieval style with its crenellated tower, the particular openings of the windows, the entrance and its decorated interior.
How to get to the Tower
I personally left the car on the main road and walked the remaining one on foot. However, following the signs, we can reach the dirt road that ends in front of an uninhabited house. Here there is a small space where you can park, since there is no sign indicating " private road". At that point, just continue on the small path that leads to the olive grove, between two private properties.
This area seems to have been abandoned a bit: tall grass and some brambles, at least for the first stretch. Instead near the Tower the condition is better.
I recommend a suitable clothing to cross the uncultivated area!

For those who have dealt with my caches, you will have noticed that I always try to insert them in the place without ever disfiguring its context. It is a self-produced and camouflaged container! There is no need to enter the tower, let alone climb.
It contains only logbooks, so please bring something to write!
