Taconic Skyline Trail - Birdhouse - 30 Traditional Cache

This is a series of small colorfully 3 x 3-inch wooden birdhouse caches.

• Each one looks similar

• Will be winter friendly, in a tree

• No more than 10 feet off the trail

The logs will all be micros and the perch of each house is designed to be removed and can be used as a log roller.

This trail is not overly difficult to hike but is long from end to end. I rode the whole trail on my MTB to place all these.

Trail distance

• West st to the intersection of the Skyline trail is about 1.5 miles

• Skyline to top of PSF is about 2+ miles   

Please note I have given all of these caches the same T & D ratings. Given that Some of the terrain may be easier or more difficult but no more difficult than 3.5. I just didn't think it would be worth adding these ratings for each cache.

If you plan to park cars at either end please note the closure time of the gate that the PSF to the top of Berry Pond rd, during the Summer it closes at 8 pm and I believe opens at 8 am.
