The Chapman Mills Conservation Area comprises a 23 Acre, narrow band of land running along the west shore of the Rideau River. It includes a natural shoreline, wetlands, and flood plain areas, which act as habitats for many different animals and aquatic plants. Much of the trail follows along wooden boardwalks, and the numerous lookout points include benches, and interpretive signs.
The land for the Chapman Mills Conservation Area was donated by the South Nepean Development Corporation, and Parks Canada. Minto Development Inc provided the development funds to make the area a wonderful area to visit. It is owned by the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority.
