This cache is located along the historic ViaSett trail, also known as the Via del Settimo or Via Bregaglia. The route follows an ancient communication path that has been used since Roman times. The entire trail is well marked with the number 64. If you don’t plan to hike the whole trail, you can take advantage of the convenient PostBus service, which allows you to explore individual stages—including the section that leads to this cache. Alternatively, the cache is also accessible by parking your car nearby, but we highly recommend approaching on foot via the ViaSett to fully enjoy the experience. Just before the Maloja hairpin bends, near Cavril, you can find a large rest area with a picnic table and a nice drink fountain. it's a good place for a quick stop as you can enjoy a beautiful view and a pleasant coolness in summer.
If you look carefully around you can see big ladybugs that often find a home on large mushrooms near old dry stomps.
