This is part of a Doctor Who themed series of caches.
Although the phrase "Silence will fall" recurred throughout the 2010 series of Doctor Who, the Silence were not seen until the 2011 series' opener "The Impossible Astronaut". We eventually learn more in the 2013 special "The Time of the Doctor". The Silence wanted to put an end to The Doctor before he answered THE question.
The Silence, one of the scariest aliens of the Doctor Who Series, are perceived only while being viewed; they are instantly forgotten once a viewer looks away. To keep track of their encounters with the Silence, Doctor Who's characters mark tallies on their bodies or use audio-recorder devices embedded in their hands to let them know if they have seen the Silence. Their history, their telepathic/psychic energy powers, and their agenda make for a great alien encounter! (April 23rd is even known by Whovians as "The Impossible Astronaut Day" --now you will know why they have tally marks on their bodies.)
While you are in this park to get Around Town -- Skyline View (GCJKKM) which is one of caches required to locate It Happens Every Spring, a mystery cache by woodwalker9, take a walk down to what I think of as the quiet portion of this little park. I’ve spent time in the main part of the park on days when the playground, tennis & basketball course were all occupied at once -- fun for all but not very peaceful. Stroll to the other end and it’s quite peaceful with only the occasional walker to go by. There is a small pavilion with shaded picnic tables if you are looking for a quiet get-away.
Years ago there was a geocache at this end of the park, but that location has grown over and a path has popped up leading to the neighborhood nearby (and is not part of the park). The location I chose should be far enough away from the busy portion of the park to search easily while it should also give you a good view of both sections of the walking trail.
Please FULLY close the lid and be stealthy, returning it the way you found it so neither muggles from the park or the neighborhood can see the container. Thanks!
The cache is on PARK property, NOT in the neighbor's backyard.
