#03 146 The Beginning of 146 Traditional Cache

This cache is temporarily unavailable.

Royal Oak: Hi

I notice that this cache appears to have been unavailable for some time now. Would the owner please check this cache and see if it still in place or give an indication of when it may be sorted out. Otherwise it should be archived. If there is no response (eg cache checked and an Owner Maintenance Log, note on the cache page or an email direct to me) after 20 days I may archive the cache, in the meantime I am disabling it. If you send me an email, you must also put a suitable note on the cache page, so other cachers know what is happening.

Guidelines: "As the cache owner, you are also responsible for physically checking your cache periodically, and especially when someone reports a problem with the cache (missing, damaged, wet, etc.). You may temporarily disable your cache to let others know not to hunt for it until you have a chance to fix the problem. This feature is to allow you a reasonable time - normally a few weeks - in which to arrange a visit to your cache. In the event that a cache is not being properly maintained, or has been temporarily disabled for an extended period of time, we may archive the listing."

If maintenance is not possible at the present time, please put a note on the cache and it will not be archived. If you do nothing it may be archived.

If you wish to email me please send your email via my profile (click on my name) and quote the cache name and number.

Regards

Geocache Description:

146 Squadron was formed on 13th June 1939 as part of the Air Defence Cadet Corps (ADCC), parading at Darwin Street Boys School. It was named after the 146 RAF Squadron. On the 5th February 1941, the Air Training Corps replaced the ADCC and so 146 ATC, as we know it today, came into existence.

In 1944 the Squadron moved to its new HQ in Queen Street on a former tannery site. The first Commanding Officer was F F Dutton DFC, a former fighter and bomber pilot from the First World War.
