In 1960 146 (Northwich) Squadron celebrated its 21st birthday under the commanding officer Flt Lt V Finney.
June 1960 saw the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme introduced into the syllabus.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE), is the generic name for a youth awards programme founded in the United Kingdom in 1956 by Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
