Wang'an Island 望安島 is the largest of 19 islands and islets comprising Wang'an Township, the second smallest in Penghu County. Although Wang'an has an airport, the most common method of access is by boat. This laid back island is known for its beautiful white sand beaches, ancient coral stone houses, and as a breeding ground and conservation center for the Green Sea Turtle.
This cache takes you to a gorgeous corner of the island, as you can see in the photo. The cache is hidden inside an old unused bunker. Look in the small "doorway" that faces the road. Just inside in the corner, the pill bottle container is under a pile of stones. The cache is not in the sand area. (see the Important Note)
Important Note: From May to October this area is open to the public only during daylight hours. It is a potential sea turtle nesting ground, so as per the Chinese notice below:
From May to October, no one is permitted to enter the area from 8:00pm to 5:00am. Violators face up to 5 years imprisonment and a $1,000,000ntd fine.
