There isn’t a covered bridge here. In fact there is no bridge here now. But I speculate it was an Iron bridge. Why? Because the road across the creek is called iron Bridge Rd. Looking for a covered bridge? There are two nearby. As well as an old mill, and a state park.
The creek here: Tohickon Creek has been recognized by the United States Congress as possessing “outstandingly remarkable” natural, cultural, historic, scenic and recreational resource values which should qualify the Tohickon as an “Exceptional Value Water.”
Exceptional Value is the highest designation for streams in the state. Some are trying to lower the water standard here. Note the quiet and beauty here at GZ as well as a nearby USGS gauge, NO NEED TO GO NEAR IT.
Every Geocache should have a purpose. This to bring you to a pretty road, Nice place to fish, walk, enjoy the flora and views. And hope you join me in the desire to protect the Tohickon Creek from the ravages of climate change — including warming stream temperatures, increased flooding and drought extremes.
A narrow road, but little traveled, Room to park nearby on shoulder.
