Welcome to our first Cache.
We have been wanting to do one for a while and thought this would be a great spot for a cache and dash.
Tuxford Is a market town with a working windmill with tearooms a charity shop and a couple of other cafes.
The cache is located on the old village green where 'The Lockup" is situated.
The Jail
Tuxford jail dates back to the early 1800's
It would hold criminals before they appeared at the county court in Retford.
As Tuxford is on the A1 or The Great North Road as it was called back then and also Sherwood Forest it was noturious for highwaymen!
The last prisoner was held in 1900!
