We decided that it was time to give back to those who have placed caches in the Catskills over the years by providing some caches for them to find. We placed several caches on a hike that netted us the three Catskills 3500 peaks on the ridge on a gorgeous early summer day. However as we passed Black Dome on the way back from Thomas Cole, a thunderstorm popped up over Blackhead and simply sat there for a couple of hours. This cache was placed in the driving rain with loud cracks of thunder shaking the mountainside, thus the name (German for thunder). It is a preform hidden just off the trail.
