Geocache Description:

EVERYONE GOES TO

HOLLYWOOD

Pamela T Mitzelfeld

In McComb MS , everyone goes to Hollywood.

They always have.

They always will.

Some things never change. McComb is one of those things.

Frozen in time. Seemingly motionless.

Life marches past it like a parade.

In 1872, Colonel H. S. McComb, President of the New Orleans, Jackson and Great Northern Railroad Company located in New Orleans, needed more land for expansion of his growing railroad company. And with that end in view, he purchased land where the City of McComb now stands, and moved his railroad company offices and shops here.

Hollywood cemetery was established in the 1800's. This  cache is placed in the oldest section of Hollywood Cemetery. Thie Crepe Myrtle is one of the oldest crepe myrtles and one of the largest in the state. Please take some time to walk around this area and check some of the dates and headstones.
