The picnic grounds:
At one time this was a nice spot to have a picnic and get great views of Flagstaff Lake and the Bigelow range. Neglect and mature trees have thwarted those things unfortunately. The cache requires a taller person to make the grab from a spot you should see when you pull in.
Mamie's house:
When the town was flooded to make the reservoir for Wyman Dam in 1950 my Grandmother was moved into a house nearby to this spot where she lived out her days to the year 1962 when she passed away at the age of 80. She lived alone with no running water. A true pioneer woman. My memories of her are few, but ones that I treasure.
