Since WOO No.1 - Doctor Woo, WOO No.2 - Woo Do You Think You Are?, WOO No.3 - Given to Woo on a Plate and WOO No.4 - Twit-tWoo have all come and gone, now it's time for the fifth version: This cache.
What's a WOO cache, you might well ask. It stands for Window Of Opportunity - and that describes its transient nature. Inline with Groundspeak's listing requirements it'll be in place for the minimum allowable period; Three Calendar Months Only! That's right - find this within three months of publication or you'll miss your chance as it'll be archived and collected. So don't delay, find it today.
At the given co-ords you'll find nothing, as this is a Puzzle-style Letterbox/Hybrid. The given co-ords are not useful. However, the cache is within two miles of this point at N51° 4A.BCD' W000° 4E.FGH' but just where is that? Please note, the stamp in the cache is NOT a swap item. It makes this cache a Letterbox. Please do not remove it!
Six suspects. Six potential murder weapons. Six possible murder scenes. Six alibis. Who's guilty and who's innocent of all charges? What got used where by whom? How, why and when?!
The Suspects are 1. Murderous Mike, 2. Killer Ken, 3. Bloodthirsty Belinda, 4. Homicidal Harriett, 5. 'No Prior Convictions' Nancy and 6. Slasher Sam - so little help there.
The murder weapon has been identified as one of six blood-stained possibilities: 1. a commercial Blender, 2. a Rabid Rabbit, 3. a Sharpened Wit, 4. a Meteorite, 5. a Blue Peter Annual (1974), and 6. an unusually heavy Geocoin.
The crime scene's setting may have been: 1. The East End of London (in the fog), 2. the stairs from 'The Exorcist', 3. an innocent-looking suburban bathtub, 4. a spooky cabin in the woods, 5. a bleak tor on the moors, and 6. an unnamed branch of Argos.
Lastly, the various alibis are: 1. That they were busy watering the dog, 2. they were knitting a sock/mitten/scarf combo, 3. appearing in the role of 'identical twins' in a west-end play, 4. murdering someone else entirely at the time, 5. claims to have been 'simply too tall to have committed the crime', and 6. they were helping the elderly... to avoid tax.
This is what the investigation has discovered thus far:
Belinda couldn't have been playing twins in the west end as she doesn't have the range, and Sam is allergic to meteorites and meteors in general, so neither was their respective alibi or weapon of choice. However, Mike had been spotted on the moors that day, his silhouette seen against the moon atop a tor, and Harriet is known to own a rabbit, which later tested positive for rabies.
The Too Tall person clearly couldn't have killed anyone in Argos, due to the low doorways, and a meteorite has never killed anyone in a bath. It's a statistical impossibility. The gallons of blood in the blender turned out to be from a 3rd party, so it has been excluded from the ongoing investigation. A photograph of Ken dressed as a catholic priest standing on steps has been found, and while he claims to have been teaching creative accountancy to the over 70s, this can't be proven. The person who was 'watering the dog' was found in possession of a large, heavy geocoin, and the sharpened wit was discovered in the cabin in the woods. Sam was definitely killing someone else at the time of the murder, or so they claim...
Nancy however, has close connections with London's East End, and I don't just mean watching the soap. The Blue Peter Annual was found in the Adelphi theatre and the blender wasn't found in Argos. Lastly, whoever was watering the dog, it wasn't Mike as he's allergic. To water.
The cache can be found at N51° 4A.BCD' W000° 4E.FGH' where:
A= The numeric value of where the giant geocoin was found, plus the meteorite's owner's alibi's numeric value. Hope that's nice and simple?
B= Where Harriett was apprehended, minus Ken's alleged murder weapon.
C= Belinda's alibi plus the Rabbit owner's alibi.
D= The person found with the bloody blender.
E= Mike's alibi, plus where the knitting was found.
F= What was discovered at the Exorcist Stairs.
G= What was found on the moors, plus Ken's alleged murder weapon.
H= The heavy Geocoin's owner.
Good luck detective! If you're taken anywhere private, dangerous, or the middle of a field, you've got something wrong. For extra credit, have you worked out 'whodunit'?
