Starting from layby at Wraxall House N 51 26.415  W 002 44.700 ,the Nailsea Round takes you to Wraxall, Tower House Woods and West End, Morgan’s Hill, Backwell Lake then back to Wraxall House via Backwell Bow.

Alternative parking at Engine Lane, Nailsea or Backwell Lake (time restrictions may be in place), Backwell Station car park (charges apply).

The Round is waymarked with distinctive waymarks.

The oak tree has been held in high esteem to the Greeks, Romans, Celts, Slavs  and Teutonic tribes the oak was foremost amongst venerated trees, and in each case associated with the supreme god in their pantheon, oak being sacred to Zeus, Jupiter, Dagda, Perun and Thor.

Ancient kings presented themselves as the personifications of these gods, They wore crowns of oak leaves, as a symbol of the god they represented.

Roman commanders were presented with crowns of oak leaves during their victory parades.

If it is spring time was the ash at the cache before this one more in leaf than the oak above you or is the oak more in leaf.

Folklore saying is

If the Oak is before the Ash

Then we'll only have a splash.

If the Ash is before the Oak,

Then we'll surly have a soak!

The reason for this is the more rain that the oak has had the earlier it sprouts leaves so if we have had a lot of rain earlier then it is likly to be dryier from now on.

Go through footpath gate and follow right hand side of field down to (Branched out II ) then on to gate/road and turn left and almost immediately right through footpath gate and diagonally left across several fields over small foot bridge and through field to lane by railway and turn left..

You will pass, Social Cacher Challenge, you can post a note, but only a find if you have met the Challenge of at least 100 event type caches.

The next Nailsea Round cache is Nailsea Round-Farm.
