This is one of my Doctor Who themed geocaches.
I won't lie, The Fourth Doctor is "my Doctor", the one that introduced me to this crazy series back in the early 80s. However, the regeneration into Peter Davidson's Fifth Doctor (1982-1984) and all that goes with those transitions hooked me to the show.
The Fifth Doctor, the youngest portrayal at the time, expressed an "interest in all things Victorian and Edwardian: cricket, tea, fair play, good manners, and a keen interest in science and exploration." (FANDOM) His incarnation of the Doctor tended to show more emotions, was reserved and was often conflicted about choices he could/couldn't make in a crisis.
His unique Doctor garb consisted of a cricket uniform and a sprig of celery on his lapel -- of the latter, he claimed would turn purple if in the presence of certain gasses of which he is allergic.
This portion of the sports complex has a nice walking trail around the soccer fields. To reduce tromping through the wilder areas of the fields, you can take this paved trail to the back of the fields and then head to the treeline. It is possible this area could be very soggy after heavy rains due to a nearby runoff creek bed.
You are looking for a bison tube with special camouflage. Please take care to replace it as found. Since this area might draw unwanted attention to the hide location, it may best to not search for it during soccer practice or games. Most other times you will have the entire area to yourself. Future geocachers will love it if you put the log back into the lid.
Be safe, have fun, and let me know if there are any issues.
Congratulations to GKMFalcon for being FTF!!
