Geocache Description:

This is a short multi at Larkstone Park in Diamond Bar. Together with its sister cache, Larkstone Plants, this cache helps you get to know a little bit about the flora and fauna in this part of the Puente Hills. The park has an upper and lower section, each with its own parking lot. The upper park has a vista point looking out over the valley, restrooms, benches, tables, grills, a large grassy area, and some fun-looking playground equipment that is no longer off limits due to COVID-19. The lower park has tables, benches, and a short walking path around a grassy area. Dogs on leashes are welcome.

On 21 September 2022 I updated the posted coordinates to make both multis more distinct on the map. I also added a virtual waypoint to direct you to the interpretive sign with information about the animals found in the hills around Larkstone Park. Use the Wildlife Community panel and determine the values of A-F to obtain the final coordinates.

N 33 59.ABC W 117 50.DEF

Checksum of A-F is 28.

A. Number of mammals shown.

B. Number of raptors shown.

C. Number of snakes minus number of lizards.

D. Number of letters in the scientific name of the pictured feline.

E. Number of birds pictured times 2.

F. One reptile has the same number of letters in each word of its common name. How many letters in one of those words?

Note that there is no car access to the park via Diamond Crest Lane. Access the neighborhood via Lemon Ave south of Golden Springs Dr.
