Questa cache avrebbe dovuto essere pubblicata il 3 maggio 2020 ma a causa delle limitazioni dei movimenti e per maggiore sicurezza esce a tre mesi di distanza.
Il geocaching nasce negli Stati Uniti nel maggio del 2000 a seguito di un atto dell’amministrazione Clinton con cui viene rimossa la Selective Availability, ovvero un sistema di disturbo per i GPS di uso civile che era stata introdotta nel 1991 per volere del Dipartimento della Difesa.
Dalle 00:00 del 2 maggio dunque i GPS civili hanno un margine di errore inferiore ai 10 metri.
Il 3 maggio Dave Ulmer, un consulente informatico di Portland (Oregon), decide di testare la novità legislativa con il suo apparecchio.
Nasconde dunque su una delle colline della sua città un contenitore in plastica nero con all’interno delle videocassette, del software geografico, una fionda, una scatola di fagioli e soprattutto un quaderno e una penna.
Tornato a casa posta un messaggio sul gruppo Usenet sci.geo.satellite-nav dove annuncia di aver nascosto il primo “stash”, alle coordinate

e detta le regole base del suo “gioco”: se prendi qualcosa, metti qualcosa e lascia un segno del tuo passaggio sul logbook.

Fenile
Questa multi è stata pensata per farvi fare una visita al bellissimo borgo di Tremenico, con il suo intrico di strette viuzze, ed al nucleo rurale di Fenile che sovrasta il paese. In abbinamento c'è anche la multi dedicata alla chiesa di Sant'Agata (GC8WEDP). Si consiglia di cercare prima questa e poi quella dedicata alla chiesa, percorrendo così un anello.
Tremenico, posto ad un'altitudine di circa 750m s.l.m. conta 167 abitanti; fino al 2017 era un Comune a sé stante ma, dal 1° gennaio 2018, si è unito ad Introzzo e Vestreno per formare il Comune di Valvarrone.

START/STAGE 1
La teleferica
Qui parte la teleferica che collega alle miniere di albite site sull'altro versante della valle. L'albite è un feldspato sodico utilizzato nell'industria della ceramica e del vetro.

Oratorio di San Carlo
Spostiamoci al vicino Oratorio di San Carlo. Fu eretto dalla famiglia Rubini a ricordo del passaggio del cardinale Carlo Borromeo in Valvarrone nel 1566.

Incamminatevi per la Via alla Chiesa. Poco dopo sulla destra troverete una fontanella ad "esclusivo uso potabile".

Per farvi da "guida" per le viuzze del centro questo è il primo punto di riferimento. Raggiungetelo prima di passare al prossimo WP.
WAYPOINT: Ingresso a Fenile
Per Fenile
Arrivando dal centro del paese raggiungete questo WP presso un tornante della strada che porta ai Roccoli Lorla e prendete il sentiero che invita ad aggirare la cascina sulla sinistra, seguendo poi il sentierino cementato.
Fenile, ormai abbandonato se non per qualche stabile nella parte occidentale, è costituito da numerose stalle e "tabiei", un tempo sede di una fiorente attività di allevamento, che in parte sopravvive. Nei secoli XVI-XVIII si trovavano anche dei mulini, ora tutti dismessi.

Qui vi trovate nei pressi di un lavatoio molto bello, nella parte meglio conservata di Fenile.

This multi was designed to make you pay a visit to the beautiful village of Tremenico, with its tangle of narrow alleys, and to the rural core of Fenile which overlooks the village. In combination there is also the multi dedicated to the church of Sant'Agata (GC8WEDP). I recommend that you first seek for this one and then the one dedicated to the church, thus going along a ring walk.
Tremenico, located at an altitude of about 750m s.l.m. it has 167 inhabitants; until 2017 it was a Municipality in its own right but, from 1 January 2018, it joined Introzzo and Vestreno to form the Municipality of Valvarrone.

The cableway
The cableway that connects to the albite mines on the other side of the valley starts here. Albite is a sodium feldspar mineral used in the ceramic and glass industry.

San Carlo oratory
Let's move to the nearby Oratory of San Carlo. It was erected by the Rubini family in memory of the passage of Cardinal Carlo Borromeo in Valvarrone in 1566.

STAGE 3
Walk along Via alla Chiesa. Shortly after on the right you will find a fountain for "exclusive drinking use" (in Italian: "esclusivo uso potabile").

To be your "guide" through the narrow streets of the center, this is the first waypoint. Get to it before moving on to the next WP.
WAYPOINT: Entrance to Fenile (Ingresso a Fenile)
To Fenile
Arriving from the center of the village, get to this WP at a bend in the road that leads to the Roccoli Lorla and take the path that go around a stone house, then follow the cemented path.
Fenile, now abandoned if not for some building in the western part, consists of numerous stables and "tabiei", once was the site of a thriving breeding activity, which in part survives. In the XVI-XVIII centuries there were also mills, now all abandoned.

Here you are near a very nice wash house, in the best preserved part of Fenile.
