Geocache Description:

Welcome to Hugh Force Park, located in the Borough of Wharton, in Morris County, New Jersey.

This is the largest park located within the Borough of Wharton.

Directly adjacent to the Morris Canal, the park offers several miles of well-marked, freshly blazed, and newly cleared hiking trails that offer visitors the oppurtunity to visit an iron mine (The ERT Mine), and iron pits where iron ore was excavated from the mountain. The western-most section of the Ridge Trail also offers hikers a panoramic view of the surrounding areas. The main trailhead is located along the railbed, which is easily accessible from main parking lot for Hugh Force Park, which will give you access to the Switchback, and Yellow Trail initially.

The park is open only from dusk to dawn. So no night-time geocaching please! This geocache was placed with permission from the Borough of Wharton. You will be looking for a large nano, or very small geocache container. You decide. PLEASE RESPECT THE ENVIRONMENT, and CITO when you can. Replace the container in the exact same manner as you found it.
