This cache is located in the 22 acre Monkstown Wood in Newtownabbey.
There are many stands of trees here from the semi mature to some more recently planted.
A place of few caches currently but in need of some more as it is a good place to explore.
There is good walking on the many paths and it is cycle and dog friendly.
Approach and parking.
There is a small car park on the right on the Monkstown Road when approaching from the Doagh Road. Look out for a sign for the forest.
Follow The Newtownabbey Way and Cycle route 93 to approach the cache.
You can also approach from the Shore Road end in Newtownabbey again following The Newtownabbey Way and Cycle Route 93 which goes under the magnificent Bleach Green Viaducts. Maybe pick up the terrain 4 cache that is located here on the way?
The sentinels are worth looking at closely and are weathering really well.
There are two other sentinels in the wood if you explore further.
The cache is located in the oak tree almost directly behind the 'boy' sentinel. You are looking for a double trunked oak tree.
The cache is a bison in a larger natural container.
Clue will hopefully do the rest for you.
For the first to find there is a small woodland trophy in the container.
