The Historic Arcanum Opera House, built in 1889, served as the heart of the community until 2018 when the decision was made to build a new town hall. Local citizens stepped in to save the building, forming the Arcanum Preservation Society, Inc. Many in the community did not realize the secrets hidden upstairs where for decades shows, plays, graduations and other town celebrations were hosted.
