This is a 2 stage multi cache. When you get to the first stage, you will see the coordinates for the final stage, which is a nice spot with 2 views of Cedar Pond. When you are near the final stage, take a look at Cedar Pond from the water's edge and then walk over to stage 2. HarryDolphin's Cedar Pond cache brought me to this area which is gorgeous and Packanack inspired me when I made the final stage. This cache is in the Pequannock Watershed and you need a permit to hike here. You can get the permit at the Echo Lake office on Echo Lake Rd. Park at P4 on the northern side and walk up to the woods road with the metal barrier across the road. Stage one is on the main woods road before it intersects with another woods road to the left. Make sure that you look for stage one on the left of the main woods road that you walked up from P4. As you walk up the main woods road, look for a tree stump on the left with pine cones in it. Walk into the woods a short while through the mountain laurels until they end and you will see another tree stump with pine cones in it. To the right are 2 rocks and I put about 8 sticks where Stage 1 is. Hopefully, this will help you find Stage 1 more easily. For Stage 2, after you see the view to the right, look to the left and you will see what looks like steps and a tree stump. Walk in that direction and Stage 2 is to the left and covered by 2 big parts of a downed tree under a boulder. You have to duck a little to get to it. Enjoy!
