The Channel - Beginning
The Mokoan Inlet Channel was part of the Lake Mokoan water storage. It was used to divert water from the Broken Creek and Hollands Creek 22km to lake Mokoan. When the lake was decommissioned in 2004, the channel's became redundant and the restoration of Winton Wetlands has included revegetating the channel.
There is an enjoyable walk on a bike track from Sydney Road along the channel towards winton wetlands. The walk ends at Dam Wall Road approximately 5.7km from Sydney Road.
The cache itself is located at the beginning of the walking track at Sydney Road. Parking is available near the posted coordinates. The cache can be found beside the bridge under a rock. It is a 2L Sistema Container with log book only. THERE IS NO NEED TO GO ON THE ROAD.
