HOPELAND SCHOOL

In 1924, a school and quarters were erected at Hopeland. In 1927, the original school room was removed to another location. The teacher's quarters were removed and re-erected at the Serpentine School in 1928.
From 1927, Hopeland School classes were held in a house on the corner of Penrak and Hopelands Roads until 1933, when a new school and quarters were erected. Hopeland School closed in 1954, with students going to the new Serpentine Primary School.
The 1933 school building is now used as a community hall. Please close the gates behind you to keep stray animals out of the grounds.

THE CACHE

Take a wander around the yards. There is no access into the the school and no need to enter that or any garden beds etc.

The cache will take you to a few interesting historical pieces and you will need to gather some information at each. Please close the gates behind you.
