Geocache Description:

Established in 1876 by George Brackett, Edmonds was formally incorporated in 1890 as the first town in Snohomish County. Popular legend has it that Brackett included two of his oxen in the first census in order to meet the minimum requirements to incorporate.

In the early years of its existence, Edmonds was largely known for it's shingle mills. At one point 14 shingle mills were running along the waterfront as the turned out shingles from the forests that covered the lower parts of the Puget Sound. The last of these shingle mills closed in 1950 and the community has become a suburb of Seattle.

The downtown area is now full of restaurants and boutique shops. Street parking is free, though sometimes a challenge to find on a sunny summer weekend. This adventure is completely walkable - so just park your car and enjoy the town. It should take about an hour to complete the adventure and find the bonus cache. The location of the bonus will be revealed throughout the adventure.
