Kokkini View Point

Having passed this view point on the way up the mountains, it seems incredulous that there is not already a cache here. The  views span for miles across the lush Troodos Forest, and stands at an altitude of 1350 metres. 

The Troodos National Forest Park covers an area of 9.147 hectares and was declared a national forest park in 1992. The park is looked after by the Troodos Forest Division which is based in Platania. 

There are many valuable natural ecosystems and rare species and habitats hosted by the Forest Park, and the area is rich with flora and fauna. MAny local traditional villages are nestled within the Forest, each with their own local traditions and customs. There are also a number of walking trails, picnic sites and visitor centres dotted around the park, and in witer Troodos even hosts skiing.
