Geocache Description:

The COVID-19 pandemic persists as history-in-the-making for the unknown future. For the United States, Washington State stood out in several instances and was put on the map. This series of geocaches display spotlights.

As many state governors also enacted Stay Home or Shelter-In-Place orders to limit COVID-19, Washington State’s Governor Inslee in his March 23, 2020 Proclamation 20-25 stated that “engaging in outdoor exercise activities such as walking, running, hiking, and biking” is essential and exempt.  In his April 27, 2020 Proclamation 20-25.2, Inslee clarified: “outdoor recreation is a fundamental part of maintaining physical, emotional and mental health, particularly in a time of great stress.” On April 16, 2020, Seattle temporarily closed certain streets to through traffic to open up more space for recreation. These “Stay Healthy Streets” allow for safe social distancing during walk, roll, bike, run, and skate. Streets were closed off near some of the existing 196 miles of Seattle’s bicycle trails and facilities. By the end of May, 20 miles of closures became permanent regardless of COVID-19 orders being lifted.

Starting at the posted coordinates, project 1300 feet at a 180 degree angle, and take a walk to the final. The cache is a tiny lurvig in a public place. Access only during daylight.

Congratulations to latetrap for FTF.
