#19 The Dogliest Detective and the Kidnappers' Meeting Place

Toby had just finished answering questions from the police about the Ghost Hill Mystery when he was told the Captain wanted to see him before he left the police station.

Sure enough, the Captain had a fancy lunch ready to share with Toby. "Thanks for all your help with the bank kidnapping and recovery of all the loot. We now have almost all of them convicted. Maybe we could have got one more juvenile if we had consulted you about his involvement. I hope his escape doesn't lead to more trouble."

"We had learned that the juvenile would be waiting for his criminal partners at a spot we thought we had figured out. They called the location 'that place where all the kids left their handprints on a red ribbon. Once they said the mayor left his prints there.'"

"We figured that was the police criminal lab or the FBI building where the fingerprint experts work. But he never showed up there. Now as we wrap all these cases, I wish we could clean up this puzzle."

Toby pondered the puzzle for a moment. "I guess I would have thought of it the same way. But there is a place where I have sniffed around that might fit their description. Did they ever say 'fingerprints' or was it always 'handprints'."

The Captain's eyes lit up. "Now that you ask, they never did say 'fingerprints'. But what else could they have meant?"

Toby's tail started wagging and he said, "No, I am thinking maybe something else. I have a lead on something concrete over at the intersection of _________. Let's go check it out."
