#20  The Dogliest Detective and the Case of the Canadian Traveler

Toby was surprisingly emotional on his first ferry ride, a trip to Cordova for a work assignment.  He was awed by the incredible scenery passing by, but at the same time, he feared that the million-dollar bridge mystery waiting for him was beyond his skills.

"The Dining Room is now open for lunch"  the captain's voice boomed over the intercom.  Toby jumped at the chance -- not to get lunch, but to grab a better seat as most of the passengers headed to line up for lunch.

Toby found a great window spot in a row of five seats.  Somebody had left a daypack of gear in the aisle seat with a Canadian flag and "Degrassi High School" patches, so Toby left a couple seats empty and grabbed the seat on the other end.  Toby opened his own lunch bag with leftovers from dinner the night before and was pleased to find not one, but two, pieces of cheesecake in the bag.  He ate slowly to savor the food and great scenery.

Eventually, the passengers came back from lunch and one picked up the lonely daypack to look at the nametag.  All the contents of the daypack spilled onto the floor -- some shoes, clothing, papers, binoculars, a coffee mug with the name "Timmies" on it, and a large wad of Canadian currency held together by a rubber band.

Many passengers saw the contents on the ground, and five people suddenly claimed they were the owners of the bag.  Everybody looked at Toby since he was the closest person to the seat before the excitement, so he put the items back in the daypack and started questioning the claimants:

1.  What part of Canada are you from?  "The Yukon Province."

2.  What kind of shoes are in the bag?  "Tennis shoes."

3.  What kind of hat do you have in your gear?  "My hiking wool beanie."

4.  How much money do you think was in that wad of currency?  "I didn't keep count, but I would say $553 Canadian dollars."

5.  How do you spell the name of the machine that lays ice on a hockey rink?  "Zee-Ayy-Emm-Bee-Ohh-Enn-Eye."

6.  How tall are you?  "Five foot eight."

7.  What high school did you attend?  "Degrassi High School."

8.  Do people call you "Timmy"?   "No, that is not my name."

9.  What is a 2-4 of beer?  "Beer with two-point-four percent alcohol."

By then a ferry official came over to see what the commotion was about.  Toby's tail began wagging as he spoke up, "I can't be 100% sure, but I think I can tell you that four of these five people are probably not the owner of the bag."  Sure enough, the four he identified admitted they were "just pretending" and let the remaining claimant take the bag.

The owner of the bag deeply thanked Toby and offered to give him a reward.  But Toby's newfound confidence led him to quickly decline.   "No thanks, that was just what I needed!"

To get the coordinates for the cache, you will need to report to Certitude the numbers of the answers (separated by a dash), that Toby thought the answer was probably from the owner of the daypack, in ascending order.  For example, if the odd-numbered answers seemed "wrong", then report to Certitude "2-4-6-8" (no quotes).

[As this is about culture and lingo, some answers might be debatable. Toby wishes that the computer allowed partially correct answers, but the checker requires one exact set of text for an answer.]

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.
