Pfefferminz is the German word for peppermint, A candy with a shortened version of that name has been around since 1927 and the pastel brick shaped candies have been made at the company's headquarters in Orange Connecticut since 1972. The candy was originally a breath mint that was developed in Austria BY Eduard Haas to help people stop smoking.
