Watercraft or ice required for this cache. Do NOT attempt by land - you won't be able to reach it in the summer and in the winter, you would be trespassing on private property. This cache can be reached by kayak (or similar) or boat during the summer, or a hike (or snowmobile / ATV ride) across the lake in the winter.
Whaletail Lake is most used for fishing (winter and summer) and kayaking. It is typically very peaceful here and has a couple resident bald eagles. White pelicans also visit for a very brief time during migration.
Coordinates are posted for the public boat launch (there is a cache here too!); you can also access from the pier at Gale Woods Farm, which also has two caches.
