Just a hop-skip-and-a-jump from Nation Valley ATV Club's trail system, lies Limerick Forest North
This geocache is in Limerick Forest North, located on one of the trails used by the Johnstown ATV Club to make up a network of trails used recreationally by ATV's.
Limerick Forest is filled with long forgotten treasures. In my youth, we used to hunt in Limerick Forest North which familiarized me with many of the hidden treasures the forest has to offer. This is an old abandoned homestead I walked by several times. I had not been to this location in the better part of a decade, so when I was out and about on the ATV, it seemed like a good time to see what it was looking like now! It almost feels as though I was the last person to walk by this location as there was no sign of anyone being there recently!
I would love to get more information about this homestead as it appeared to have a full basement, and second story, and many hidden foundations are strewn about the open area here. What were the other buildings? Was this a homestead of importance? More research required!
