Geocache Description:

The cache is hidden in plain sight. Please make sure to hide it back in its corner once you're done :)

GPS will get a little spotty as you'll be under tree cover, but it shouldn't be hard to spot. Use the waypoint to get to the cache -you won't be able to get it from outside the fence.

Aeoniums are a genus of succulents. The haworthii "Kiwi" is known for its pink tinged petals. The original container had a plastic aeonium attached, but now it's just a pickle jar. I figured a place like this could use a regular-sized container.

This cache is located in the beautiful Ponce Preserve. With 41 acres, it hosts the Green Mound, an archaeological site. It was an Indian midden, otherwise known as shell heaps -old dumping grounds for domestic waste. There is a live oak at the base of the Green Mound that is estimated to be more than 350 years old!

On the East side, you'll easily have access to the beach. On the West side, you'll have access to a boardwalk that leads you to the Halifax River. This is a family friendly location -it has 2 playgrounds for kids, various exercise stations, and an observation tower as apart of the Great Florida Birding Trail. You'll have the chance to traverse through the dunes and see various native Floridian flora.

Per the Ponce Inlet website: "Funding for the construction of the recreational facilities was provided by the Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program and Volusia ECHO grants."

Congrats to jaysonness and deia1 on their FTF!
