A competition was held among 16 Springfields across the United States to host the American premiere for The Simpsons Movie. Each Springfield produced a film explaining why their town should host the premiere with the results being decided via a vote. Springfield, Minnesota dropped out on the date ABst May CDEF. The winner was announced on the date 10th July 2007 to be Springfield, Vermont.
