Geocache Description:

This is a letterbox hybrid cache, so the coordinates on the app are just where you start, THE CONTAINER IS NOT HIDDEN THERE.  You must follow the clues and instructios that are included further down in the description (although I encourage you to read all of the description before proceeding on your adventure) to make your way to the actual container. This cache is not for the faint of heart (ok it's not that far, maybe .2 miles from the coords). But there will be bushwacking, stream crossing, bugs, spiders (we probably got rid of most of those when placing this), and even a log balancing over a raging river (ok, that might be a slight exxageration wink). However there are also many promising and fun things if you power through this, such as a large screw top cache container with lots of goodies, a couple rope swings over a creek and a beautiful forest to enjoy. I placed this cache on a wet and muggy day, but any day is fine to go out searching for this cache. You will need a good compass for this cache, and I strongly recommend one wears long pants and uses bug repellent. Do not try this close to sunset, since this will lead you into the forest off the path, just make sure you know where the creek is, since that will lead you back to the trail. This cache was placed in accordance with FCPA regulations. There was nothing disrupted or disturbed in the placing of this cache and there is NO NIGHT CACHING ALLOWED.

Enough about warnings, this cache is a fun letterbox that I had a lot of fun placing. I love this forest, and come in here regularly to enjoy its tranquility and amusements, especially the rope swing. There used to be two huge rope swings in the first clearing off the main path, and I had much fun on them over the years, until recently when someone rudely cut them down. Since then it has been a battle to keep them surviving and locals and people like me have been setting up other ropes and such, and putting up makeshift bridges all along the creek to preserve the raw fun these provide. One of my hopes in creating this cache is for you to 1) Discover the swings 2) Enjoy them and hopefully help protect them or make them better, 3) Enjoy a great caching adventure!

The forest itself is beautiful, and so is the creek, so enjoy them in the day, since there is no caching allowed at night. You could even come here in your bathing suits and have a joyous time after you find the cache if you want. Without further ado, here are the instructions for you to use to navigate to the cache:

From the beginning coordinates, take the side path that leads to the creek with the rope swing. Head North along the creek until you see the great crossing log. Cross over the creek, then keep proceeding North along the creek until you see the creek bend to the West and there is another rope swing. (Note on 2/20/21: I checked up on this today, and the second rope swing was unfourtunately taken down! However, you can still see the part of the rope hanging from the tree limb over the creek from where it was cut.) From here, proceed west along the creek until you come to the Great Leaning Tree Creek Guardian and the creek heads north again. From this point, head Southwest till you reach a clearing and from there, keep heading Southwest to the Corkscrew Right Angle Tree. Stand under the first right angle its trunk takes, and take 7 paces North Northwest. Then turn Northwest and take 14 more paces to find its resting place.
