Ilkley West Ramble #2: The Lonesome One

This is the 2nd in a series of 28 caches which will take you on a memorable ramble through some fine, varied West Yorkshire countryside immediately west of Ilkley and south of Addingham. The southern half of the ramble traverses an area called Addingham Moorside.
See Ilkley West Ramble #1: Intro & Start for maps, background info on the trail, and parking waypoints.

From IWR #1 ignore the trail heading straight ahead towards IWR #28 (unless you have chosen to do the series in reverse sequence) and descend diagonally right across the grassy field and down to a small metal gate in the dry-stone wall @ N 53 55.361 W 1 51.561. Head through and continue straight down the field to another similar gate in the lower right corner.

Through this gate the path goes diagonally left in the direction of the telegraph pole. However, whilst taking in the wonderful panoramic views of the Wharfe valley and moorland beyond, you will wish to deviate a little to the obvious (general) cache (a small screw-capped camo-taped plastic pot) location - a lone hawthorn tree with some interesting rocks around its base worthy of investigation . . .
