Ilkley West Ramble #5: The Gnarled One
This is the 5th in a series of 28 caches which will take you on a memorable ramble through some fine, varied West Yorkshire countryside immediately west of Ilkley and south of Addingham. The southern half of the ramble traverses Addingham Moorside.
See Ilkley West Ramble #1: Intro & Start for maps, background info on the trail, and parking waypoints.
The cache, a 500mL screw-capped, camo-taped plastic pot, is hidden alongside the trail heading north-west from Netherwood & Rams Gill.
From IWR #4 take the farm track west a short distance to N 53 55.603 W 1 51.909 the start of a small trail heading right (north) down the shady ghyll. Follow this, crossing the beck on ancient stones then continue up the other side out of the ghyll and across the field to the wooden stile/gate at N 53 55.678 W 1 51.945.
Cross this and carry on to the cache location on your left . . .
