Geocaching Intro Series (GIS)
With so many new cachers playing the game, I wanted to do a series to help introduce them to the different parts of the game. This cache is part of the How to Geocache Series in the Northern Kentucky area. Feel free to check out the rest of the nearby Geocaching Intro Series for great tips and tricks to help you figure out the Geocaching game.
What’s the difference between Adventures and Traditional Geocaching?
Unlike traditional geocaching, Adventures do not require a physical container and can be located indoors. Geocaching Adventure Lab expands the boundaries of traditional geocaching into new spaces and experiences while introducing innovative and fresh ideas that make geocaching even more fun! There is actual one geocaching lab a couple a hundred feet from where you currently are standing.

Find an Adventure Lab
Geocaching Adventure Lab is a new app and platform that allows you to create, play, and share location-based experiences and games. The Adventure Lab app guides players through the process of finding clues, solving puzzles, and completing Adventures one location at a time. If you’re already a Geocaching member, these Adventure Lab Caches count towards your Geocaching.com statistics and total finds.
In contrast to other cache types, Adventure Lab Caches are virtual (without a container), can be indoors, and do not require a minimum distance to other geocaches. This allows Lab Cache creators to innovate and test new ideas to make geocaching even more fun.
Find an Adventure Lab
- Download the free Adventure Lab app.
- Log in with your Geocaching.com account.
- Select a nearby Adventure from the map or list. For private Adventures, use your phone's camera or QR code scanner to open the Adventure in the app.
- Navigate to the Adventure location and follow the instructions in the description.
NOTE: Metric or imperial units are determined by the language setting on your phone. For example, English (Canada) will provide metric units.
Log an Adventure Lab
To log an Adventure Lab, players must visit the location, discover the location answer, and then enter the code into the app to mark the cache as found. After completing all locations within an Adventure, you may also rate the Adventure and leave a comment as an Activity Log.
You can view your completed Adventure Lab Caches at https://labs.geocaching.com/logs. To view your rating or Activity Log, you must visit the Adventure within the app.
Congrats to TomTurtle for first to find!
