We placed this geocache in honor of Minnie Wieting, a Snoqualmie pioneer who owned a farm on this block in the first half of the 20th century. Although she was a married woman, her name alone appears on the property records. While that seems a bit unusual, we haven't yet discovered the reason for this... if any local visitors to this cache happen to have any information on Minnie and Herman Wieting, please share! It is always fun to learn more about the neighbors, even when they are long gone.
GZ is our Little Free Library, so be sure to bring along a book to trade if you'd like! We especially appreciate books that represent diverse perspectives... interpret that any way you like.
You can access this geocache from the sidewalk, although you may need to take a step or two onto the dirt to do a thorough search of the library from all sides.
This would be a great cache to wear gloves for... or bring a poking stick! Update: 6/28/24 doing some maintenance and it looks like a second cache was placed by some helpful geocacher who must have thought the original cache was missing! It's not... it's there! This is a microcache and you will have to check all sides of the LFL to find it. See the hint for more details.
